  11 Scrotwm is a small dynamic tiling window manager for X11.
  12 It tries to stay out of the way so that valuable screen real estate can
  13 be used for much more important stuff.
  14 It has sane defaults and does not require one to learn a language to do
  15 any configuration.

  17 It was largely inspired by
  18 <a href="http://xmonad.org/">xmonad</a>
  19 and
  20 <a href="http://www.suckless.org/dwm/">dwm</a>
  21 .
  22 Both are fine products but suffer from things like:
  23 crazy-unportable-language-syndrome, silly defaults, asymmetrical window
  24 layout, "how hard can it be?" and good old NIH.
  25 Nevertheless  dwm was a phenomenal resource and many good ideas and code
  26 was borrowed from it.
  27 On the other hand xmonad has great defaults, key bindings and xinerama
  28 support but is crippled by not being written in C.

  30 It was written by Marco Peereboom & Ryan Thomas McBride on
  31 <a href="http://www.openbsd.org">OpenBSD</a>
  32 and it is released under the ISC
  33 <a href="license.html">license</a>.
